TIAA Charitable's 2020 Contribution Deadlines

Contributions to your TIAA Charitable Giving Fund may be eligible for a 2020 charitable tax deduction. As we approach the final months of the year, here are the year-end giving dates to ensure contributions qualify for the 2020 tax year that ends on December 31.

Grant Recommendation Deadline

The deadline for grant recommendations is December 23 to ensure grant checks are mailed before year-end.

*Process and timing for complex assets vary, and each situation is unique and subject to review and approval by TIAA Charitable. If you are interested in claiming a complex asset contribution for the 2020 tax year, please call us as early as possible to assess your situation. 

**Control and restricted stock may have unique stipulations and may be subject to variability in execution timelines.

***For assets held away from TIAA, timing is dependent on the transferring institution. TIAA Charitable will make every effort to contact and coordinate with transferring institutions to provide timely processing. For asset transfers initiated by an outside broker, timing is dependent on the transferring institution.  For the 2020 tax year, assets held away from TIAA must be received by TIAA Charitable in good order by December 31, 2020.  

Contributions to the Giving Fund are irrevocable. All recommendations from donors are subject to review and approval by TIAA Charitable.
