2017 Contribution and Grant Recommendation Deadlines

Contributions to your TIAA Charitable donor-advised fund may be eligible for a 2017 charitable tax deduction. As we approach the final months of the year, here are the year-end giving dates not to miss to ensure contributions qualify for the 2017 tax year that ends on December 31.

Grant Recommendation Deadline

The Giving Season is here! The deadline for grant recommendations is Friday, December 22 to ensure grant checks are mailed before year-end.

*Process and timing for complex assets vary and each situation is unique and subject to review and approval by TIAA Charitable. ^For assets held away from TIAA, timing is dependent on the transferring institution. TIAA Charitable will make every effort to contact and coordinate with transferring institutions to provide timely processing. 

For asset transfers initiated by an outside broker, timing is dependent on the transferring institution.  For the 2017 tax year, assets held away from TIAA must be received by TIAA Charitable in good order by December 29th, 2017. 

Contributions to the Giving Fund are irrevocable. All recommendations from donors are subject to review and approval by TIAA Charitable.
